New 6-week Bible Study from Brooke Harris
Create His Kingdom:
A Biblical Journey in Creativity
Create His Kingdom is a six-week guided Bible study designed to awaken creativity and deepen connections with God. Through Scripture, reflection, and simple art-based invitations, Brooke Harris encourages readers to rediscover the joy of creation as worship and explore what it means to build his kingdom with purpose and love. Whether journaling, painting, or simply reflecting, this study invites readers to listen, create, and flourish in their God-given identity.
This guided experience, spanning six sessions, is designed for personal exploration and growth. Each session, filled with scripture reading, reflection questions, and creative exercises, is a canvas for the Holy Spirit to stir participants’ hearts in unique ways. Each session is organized into six days, allowing participants to complete it within a week. Days are organized as follows:
Day 1–3: Discover
On these days, individuals will read scripture, commentary, and answer questions about the Bible reading and their own personal application.
Day 4: Creative Invitation
Day 4 is a special invitation for participants to connect with God in a personal, creative way. Whether it's through journaling or a simple creative exercise, this day is all about fostering a unique bond with God the Creator.
Day 5: Truths and Reflection
Day 5 writings invite readers to declare truths they have learned throughout the session and reflect personally on where God is at work in their lives. These questions and answers are for the person and the Lord.
Day 6: Group Reflection
Each group meeting will consist of prayer, a guided discussion, and a creative exercise. These fellowship questions may be answered and shared with the group. Leaders will facilitate this time of creativity.
“The beautiful way that Brooke Harris has integrated Scripture, opportunity for reflection, joy-filled creativity, and our deep need for community into this study will be a blessing to all who take the journey. I encourage you to buy this study and discover both the wonder-working power of God in your life, and your place in bringing in the kingdom.”
Interview with Brooke Harris
What is this book about?
Participants of Create His Kingdom will experience a relationship with God in six sessions, learning their identity in Him and knowing their purpose in His Kingdom. With the key components of scripture readings, reflection questions, and creative exercises such as painting their emotions, writing a psalm, and collage journaling, participants will be given the invitation to journey deeper into knowing themselves and God as Creator. Each session builds to form a truly creative life lived in Christ Jesus.
Who will benefit from it?
The intended reader for Create His Kingdom is the Christian laity. This audience attends church regularly but may be yearning for a deeper, more personal relationship with God. It is perfect for small groups and can be led with both men and women participants. Many times, husbands and wives participate together. The intended participants are creative individuals and those hesitant to claim creativity, so they can be affirmed in their gifts. This book would benefit the many who live under the lie that they are not creative, even though they are formed in the very image of our Creative Father.
Why is creativity in the church so important?
Unlike many familiar Bible studies, this book engages the right side of the brain in ways the church needs. The creative arts belong in the church, and people desire to experience God in new ways other than listening to a sermon. They desire for God to be personal and speak to them individually. This study creates the opportunity for people to engage with God in fresh, creative ways that will be personal and meaningful to them and help them know their creative place in His kingdom. It is an encouragement and catalyst for a creative revival of the church, starting with the individual life.
What got you started in this field of creative exploration?
I have been a professional artist for almost a decade. I teach many different types of painting classes, and I keep coming up against the same lie. My students would hold up their paintbrushes even before starting and say, “I’m not creative.” Since then, it has been my passion to help people know the truth about creativity and how it connects us with our Heavenly Father. We are made in His image, and we are creative because He created first. I love showing people their God-given creativity through this Bible study.
What do you hope readers will learn from completing this Bible Study?
My hope is that participants see their creative purpose in the kingdom of God, and they are able to connect with God in a new and personal way. Creativity with God revitalizes us to go back out into the weary world and give sacrificially like Christ to others. Our words and actions matter; what we say and do builds the kingdom, and Jesus uses it to create the holy city of God.
“Unleashing creativity in our lives will require us to see the world with the fresh eyes of a child. . . . In Create His Kingdom, Brooke Harris reminds us that we can all share in God’s creativity if we are open to the creative work of the Holy Spirit in our lives.”
